try going to wal-mart or sallys beauty supply and getting shampoo for curly hair or body enhancing shampoo and conditioner and then you could get like crunching gel or spray! that would be better than getting a perm or if you want maybe try a curling iron... just a small 1 prong curling iron and some curling hair spray.... also curling moose... they have all kinds of products you could use

French braiding it is the most natural way to do it. If you dont know how, then when you get out of the shower put it in a towel to get all the immidiate drippy water out of it, take the towel off and sort of scrunch it with your hands till its dry-ish. If that doesnt work your gonna have to use curlers that wont hurt your hair. Thats probly the best bet.. curlers.

Well I used to do this to my hair when I was a teenager,

Right before I went to sleep, I would part my hair 4 ways and would make 2 braids on each part. It helps if hair is a little damp, and then I would go to sleep with them on. The next morning I would take them out and it would look really wavy and kind of curly. That was my secret for not damaging my hair. When you take out the braids, do not comb, run your fingers through and add some styling gel or mousse. If you brush it, it'll look bushy.

It worked well for me. Now I'm into straight sleek hair. Its funny how that changes.

It's actually quite easy. At night (every night), braid your hair in servalr cornrows. I normally moisturize with Luster's Pink Lotion or Fructis smoothing milk (I think that's what its called) nightly %26amp; in the morning I take down the braids %26amp; kind of use my fingers to get them looking nice. Never a brush or comb because it just make is look frizzy. It's great because you aren't using any heat on your hair %26amp; you aren;t really manipulating it too much, it's a great look!

If your hair as a somewhat curl to it your best bet would be to wash it and scrunch it. You may also want to look up on google the straw curl. That would probably be the look you want. The problem with braiding your hair is that it is more crinkly than curly. I am black and have naturally curly hair that I usually straighten. Don't use moisturizer with mineral oil because it dries out your hair, some type of oil is good- even olive oil works wonders. Good luck

1. Thoroughly brush your hair and section it with hair bands or clips.

2. Start from the bottom layer of hair on one side. Take a small section of hair. Using a thin iron, clamp it at the bottom of your hair and slowly curl it upwards.

3. Hold it for about 5 or so seconds, and gently remove the straightener.

5. Instead, take the section, lightly mist it with a flexible hairspray. Then place the flat iron about an inch away from your scalp. Twist the iron completely around and then pull it down toward the ends of your hair. This will create the same kind of effect you get when you use a scissor to curl the ends of a ribbon. Running it over your hair slowly will create a tighter curl, and quickly will create a looser curl or make it wavy.

6. Do this to the bottom layer of your hair right around to the other side, then move up and go around until all of your hair is curled.

7. Spray your hair to hold your style (optional).

Tips [edit]

* This style can only work if you use a thin iron that is about 1 inch wide. If you use a wider one, this style may not work.

* Make sure your hair is completely tangle free and smooth before you begin.

* Make your parting in the middle or at the side before you start to avoid frizz
