How the heck do you straighteden thick curly hair?

now, i must say that my hair is quite healthy for i never do ANYTHING to it and use pretty nice shampoos and conditioners... but sometimes, i just wanna straighten it. I used to be able to just use a straightening iron but i think my hair got coarser or something because i can't anymore. It comes out icky and stick-like. Sooo what do you curly haired girls do?

How the heck do you straighteden thick curly hair?

take it by parts ..

it may take long but it will get the job done .

How the heck do you straighteden thick curly hair?

well i do sections by sections and the hair that i am not using at the moment i put it up in a clip it takes me about 1hour to 1 hour and 30 mins

i hope i could help!!!!

How the heck do you straighteden thick curly hair?

You def need to use product before you flat iron your hair. Like a silicone clear liquid thats shiny. take small sections. start at the nape of your neck and clip up the rest of your hair..and stay neat..use a comb first followed by your iron. Sounds to me like you may be using the wrong product. and it could be your cut as well.

My hair is somewhat curly but I'm still able to straighten. Use a hair straightener that goes up to around 400 degrees and pre condition your hair. The conditioner makes it a lot easier and lasts so much longer when curled. Pin up sections and do bit by bit in order to get all the hair straightened. Also, you should hairspray it when it's finished so it holds longer. I use tresemme extra strong hold and spray it all over my hair (maybe five inches away from my head) and then I comb my hair through again. Works great and it manages to stay straight all day.

Good luck. :)

You should get a professional hairdresser to do thermal reconstructuring or a relaxer on it.

How the heck do you straighteden thick curly hair?

Split your hair into parts, then get a curler and curl the thick hair of yours.

How the heck do you straighteden thick curly hair?

Straighten yoyour hair bit by bit

tie up most of you hair in a high bun and straighten the hair which has not been tied up.

once that is straightened release a little bit more hair out and straighten that part

continue this process till ur hair is done

it may take some time but your hair will be straight

and look groovy!

Have you heard of a Relaxer.

They work perfect on my hair, Sometime my Straightener messes up my hair, or makes it really curly and funny looking, most of the time Puffy. So I use a Relaxer. Its like a Moose or Spray that you have to Rub into your hair. It hurts sometimes but it is really worth it. =) U can get it done at a Salon or you can by the product at a Store

Does anyone know any cute hairstyles for curly hair?

Wvery day, I wear my hair parted to the side, and I'm getting bored. I'm sared to do anything new, though. Does anyone have experience with curly hair or ideas?

Does anyone know any cute hairstyles for curly hair?

i'd keep your hair at a little longer then shoulder length, maybe right where the shoulder bone ends. then i would get side bangs and straighten them everyday. even straighten the top a little bit, then pull your hair into a high ponytail and that should look cute. Braids work too. My hair has started to get curly and thats what i do, and it is very cute for curly hair.

Does anyone know any cute hairstyles for curly hair?

Depending on your age wear your hair out with a thin headband I do this nearly everyday and its cute my hair is curly and about shoulder length

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

use a straightener............ duh

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

You can straighten it everyday or get a straightening perm but that would not work after a while as ur curly hair would grow out..

I have straight hair and i LOVE curly hair.. just learn to love your curly hair!! curly hair looks nice when it has gel in it so it doesnt look frizzy

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

Use a professional hair straightener...they are expensive, but totally worth it.

You can also go to your local salon and go through a procedure where they chemically straighten your hair and it lasts a few months. A lady at my work did it and it looked amazing.

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

I have really curly hair too...but I use a Chi straightening Iron. Make sure you condition your hair really good...dry it and section it off. Before you straighten each piece, rub some hair serum on it. It might look like it is "smoking" but that it the heat locking the serum into your hair cuticle. So, it cause less damage! I suggest Biosilk hair serum, you can find it at Target.

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

You could get a ceramic straightener. Make sure it's ceramic not metal, because metal ones completely fry your hair. Or you could use Herbal Essences Pin Straight shampoo and conditioner, and finish off with Herbal Essences Pin Straight Straightening Mousse

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

straight hair is overrated curls are hot!

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

you wash you hair

wait till it's damp

then blow dry it

or you can just got to a solon

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

You can use straighteners as the others suggested.

Ceramic ones are better than the very cheap ones. Personally, I use the Remington wet to dry quite regularly as I find the process of thoroughly drying my hair prior to using my ceramic straighteners both time consuming and a bind.

If you are wanting to permanently straighten your hair, it can be done chemically if your hair is in good condition. Whilst you may love your hair when its first done, as soon as the roots start coming through curly, this can make your hair look 'peculiar' to say the least.

I certainly wouldn't advise you to have it chemically straightened regularly, especially if you long hair.... more than once and it would go out of condition, no matter how you looked after it.

Is there any chance, you could just straighten it for special occassions with straighteners, that way you are doing the least damage to it.

I used to work with a girl who straightened hers on a daily basis. It went from long, glossy healthy hair into a split, dry damaged mess. It needed at least six inches off the layers, let alone the length. To me, nothing looks worse.

flat iron, pros.:probably deosnt cost as much as a perm, doesnt smell as bad as a perm, and you can have it straight or curly whenever you want.

flat iron, cons:a good one will cost alot, a sucky one is ,well, sucky, if you like the way it looks then youll want to have it straight all the time and itll take time to straighten your hair eevverry morning, long term straightening without protection may cause damage

Straight perm, pros: it deosnt frizz up your hair, your hair will dry qiucker(might not need to use a blow dryer unless for styling-i dont need one)may last long(i got mine jan 2005, still very straight ,always complimented :) )

straight perm, cons.: $$$$,smells bad, might damage your hair(might not ,my hair is perfectly fine), takes time(mine took like 4 hrs) you might miss your curly hair after a while

try straitening it a few times and see how it goes :D

How do you get straight hair if you have curly hair? (HELP)?

You want your curly hair to look straight and don't want to get it damaged? Simple answer, you only need enough money to do it for you!

I'll tell you what happened to mine as I have a natural curly hair too (really worst curly hair). I did straighten it by myself using different medicines/stuff on sales, and even buying blowers, iron for hair. Went even to cheap saloon %26amp; using different shampoos too to get a good result as I thought. But it ended up in falling hair, split ends, damaged hair in short. Had bought different hair wax too but of no avail. Til I found this hair saloon that really solve my hair problem. Though it's really expensive, but my hair now really looks great. So I have my set of shampoo/conditioner/hair treatment from that saloon as you need treatment at home also. I have it straighten every after 4 months since even if you have your hair straighten, the newly grown hairs will still be curly, lol. But the straighten part remains straight. You have to be aware that some cheap saloon that could straight your hair will not last longer (for about a couple of days and all over will be curly again). I had experiences in different countries for straightening my hair too and most of them only made my hair worst. In Spain, my hair became hard. In Germany, it was not good too. In the Philippines, my friends told me to have at the Super Megal Mall, it was like a notebook spring also and even afraid to touch my hair. When I went to another saloon to have it straighten again, the result was like a zombie. All my hairs had gone %26amp; I looked like a skin head woman. I did not know what kind of medicine they applied to my hairs. I asked their licenses but they said they don't have. I supposed to call a police, but all of them cried and knelt down to beg forgiveness %26amp; return the payment to me. They were really afraid that their shop will be closed for that cause as it is their only way to earn for a living. The real owner of the shop was not there and told me she was in Manila. All I had done is to buy a hat to cover my head %26amp; flew right away to Japan to have a treatment %26amp; speed up hair grower. In Canada and France, the result were good. So, if you want to do it by yourself, be sure to use treatment %26amp; have your hair be relaxed once in a week.

go 2 a hairdresser or get a straightener...

What are good ways to keep hair straight, with naturally curly hair?

Ok, so I'm a guy and my hair is naturally reallyyyy curly, and I use a straightner, but it usually ends up curling slightly. I use styling putty and hairspray once in a while, which kind of helps, but the next morning; it's shower and then straighten my hair for 30mins or so. Any easy ways to keep it under control?

Thank you for your time

What are good ways to keep hair straight, with naturally curly hair?

Its obviously hard to control curly hair when its short...

I have naturally curly hair (long) and i blow dry it and then straighten it everrrryy day! (waste of time really)

I have spoken to the hairdresser and they say you can actually have your hair permanently straightened. (opposite process to a perm)

You should go in and ask your local hairdresser and see if they can do this for gents hair.

What are good ways to keep hair straight, with naturally curly hair?

Get it chemically straightened--which is HORRIBLE for your hair. Or, you can get straightening lotion, Got2B works really good, and use that every time before you straightene it.

What are good ways to keep hair straight, with naturally curly hair?

hey if you want permanent straight hair then get your hair permanently straighten!! but love yourself for who you are maybe curly works for you!:]

What are good ways to keep hair straight, with naturally curly hair?

Buy a hair perm/curling kit. Go through all the steps for perm but leave the curlers out (brush your hair straight instead). This will make your hair straight and soft.

I want to get a hair cut , but i have long/curly/thick hair that frizzes up when its too short.. any

any ideas on a hair cut that wont frizz/poof up my long/thick/curly hair that when is cut too short poofs up and frizzes??

I want to get a hair cut , but i have long/curly/thick hair that frizzes up when its too short.. any ideas????

dont cut it short

I want to get a hair cut , but i have long/curly/thick hair that frizzes up when its too short.. any ideas????

I'm assuming that "joe" means you're a guy, and guys usually want the easier and cheaper route, not the time-consuming and expensive daily thing. So, if you're not against some chemical services, you could consider a mild relaxer, which will really show its benefit when the hair is shorter.

Beyond that, a talented stylist will know how to cut divisions, or "thinning" sections into the hair structure to soften the binding effects of tight curl segments, so they aren't as obvious. Gives a softer effect and looks more casual.

Regular conditioning with a conditioner that has stearyl or cetyl alcohol can help keep the hair soft, even in situations where it would frizz up. Many health advocates are avoiding the common products that contain dimethicone or siloxanes, since they feel they might be toxic if/when absorbed by the body. But the stearics and cetyls -- easy to find and cheap -- are fatty alcohols that lubricate the hair -- they do not dry it at all. Many people use them after chemical services, but anyone can use them, especially to smooth out those frizzes.

You also may find that when your hair is short, it frizzes less, since your own natural oils will have more of a chance to lubricate your hair. Just be careful to not shampoo too often: once a day, or even once every other day is fine, unless you wear lots of gels and sprays in your hair.

Good Luck... :)

I want to get a hair cut , but i have long/curly/thick hair that frizzes up when its too short.. any ideas????

Read the book "Curly Girl". Do EXACTLY what she says even though you won't believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give it 3 weeks and your halo will become mermaid curls. I swear! Only use "hair color by Robert Craig". It's the only one gentle for curly hair.

I want to get a hair cut , but i have long/curly/thick hair that frizzes up when its too short.. any ideas????

I have the same type of hair and ran into the same problem as you for years. I'd suggest investing in a straightener to help smooth at least the top layer of your hair.

I use a Revlon ceramic style straightener every day on the highest heat setting, and it works fine. For more body I only straighten the top layer, and if I want to wear it really straight I start underneath and straighten individual layers.

On high heat, it really doesn't take too long and I've been able to experiment with the shorter styles I was never able to pull off before.

Im multi racial (Asian, Black, and Mexican) and have very curly hair. I use Pantene Pro-V shampoo and hair conditioner. It works very well and keeps my hair soft and unfrizzy. And if you straighten your hair like I do, the best trick to keep you hair soft is, before you iron it take a quarter sized drop of hair conditioner and smooth it through your hair.

I am also bi-racial and I find that products from the following sites work wonders according to your hair type.
