Help! I haven't been able to find a good hair straightener that actually works. I have curly hair, and i've always wanted it to be straight. I've tried a lot before and they haven't worked, I dont have much money, so the cheaper the better. And I need it so that when I'm done straightening, i need it to stay for a long time!!! Plus i need a good hair serum that will help. THanks!!

I insist you get a CHI! yes it will set you back by about 90-150 dollars depending on the type. i have the CHI Turbo, and i absolutely adore it! my hair is kinda easy to straighten but i wouldn't stay straight. with my CHI it would straighten very fast and would STAY like that for DAYS. it heats up in less than 10 seconds. i got mine at target for about $128.00.
The brand that makes CHI is Farouk, do NOT i repeat DO NOT buy a CHI of any other brand make than FAROUK. okay and because it heats up to 400 degrees F i insist you be careful; i have burned myself a few times and also, use a protecting creme, i insist sunsilk therma shine or herbal essences because the CHI will damage your hair, but beauty is the price to pay these days. i really hoped i helped, i didn't do this just to be picked for best, i want to show you how great CHI's are. =)

and redken 'glass' is fabulous, makes your hair perfect! silky, shiny and you don't need to use much of it
I love my ghd, I don;t know what I'd do without it! My hair stays straight until I wash it. I use it everyday and wash my hair every second or third day, so on the day or two after you've straightened it, you just need to tidy up your bed hair.
My hair is fairly wavy, but I have friends with really curly hair (like corkscrew curls) who swear by their GHD (stands for Good Hair Days)

I have thick, wavy hair, and I use the "Wet 2 Straight" iron. It's great because you can use it on damp hair, then you're not damaging your hair by blow drying it first. I use a Paul Mitchell straighter and I love it! However, I payed a little of $100 for it, but I think you can get them on e-bay for around 80. As long as it's cermaic, it should be fine. Even though you don't want to pay too much, you still need one that will be healthy for your hair and that wont damage it! I use John Freda hair serum, you but it at Wal-Mart for around 5 dollars. Well, I sorta face the same problem. I had thick, crulyish hair and no hair straightener has ever really worked for me. But then I went to the mall and there was this stand with this Amika flat iron thing. They tried it out on my hair and it made my hair PIN straight. It lasts until you wash your hair, or three days. The only problem was it averages about 150$. it's well worth it though. I don't know if they have a website, but if you're interested, maby try googleing it. Good luck!

I am not sure where you live but if you can find a Sally's Beauty supply store and ask them, they will be able to help you. I have thick natural curly hair that is terrible in the summer when it's hot and humid and if it rains nothing helps. I had a cheap iron that didn't work and always ended up getting curly by end of day. I went to Sally's and asked and they advised me of what one to use.
I got a jilbere de paris tourmaline series with red ceramic plates. It's the smaller size and works like a charm. Asking a professional for help is the best.
