Its got to do with our ancestors, actually. Pubic hair is there to hold our "sex scent", and being curly makes it thicker and fuller than if it were straight. Although some are straight, all are course. That means it would hold more scent than fine, hair. Its really not important to us anymore, I mean when is the last time your sex partner sniffed you to see if you were ready to mate?!

Do you really want to know why pubic hairs are curly? Look at them under a microscope sometime. Pubic hairs are flat. That's why they curl up when they grow out of the skin. The hair on a white person's head is slightly round. Native-Americans and Asians have completely round hairs growing on their heads. That's why their hair is so straight when it grows. Round hairs don't curl up the way flat hairs do.
