To get hair WITH defined Curls( actual ringlets) use Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding. It works wonders and doesn't stiff your hair like mouse or gell. Your curls will be movable

go here- you can find a store that carries it as well.

after u get out the shower towel dry your hair then put hair gel in it and kinda scrunch it up with your fingers and let it dry. it'll still kinda have a wet look to it and be curly.

L'oreal curling mousse. Apply to your hair evenly. put your head upside down and dry with the hair dryer. I use it and it gives me so much curls.

DON'T towel dry your hair. If anything, just squeeze the water out if you can. If you muss it all up drying it with a towel, it'll just get more frizzy. I use mousse to keep my hair from being a ginormous poofball.

I have curly hair too, my trick to keeping it from being poofy is when you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair and then "scrunch" it with mousse. It keeps it from becoming poofy and keeps the frizz away to. Trust me it really helps.

well during showers, twist your hair around your finger and use special shampoo to control frizz. always comb your hair because brushing your hair will ruin your curls.

First of all, you'll need a few things :

Salon-quality conditioner made for curly hair

(Bumble %26amp; Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner)

Salon-quality shampoo made for curly hair

(Matrix Curl.Life Defining System)

Leave-In Conditioner

(Infusium 23 Original Formula Leave-In Conditioner)

Deep Conditioner

(Anything by Infusium 23 or Pantene)

Straightening Serum

*only need if you want to tighten curls

(Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum)

Mousse or Gel

*if you want

(Herbal Essences Shimmery Night Spray Gel, Tresseme Curl Care Flawless Curls)

Here's what I do to keep my hair frizz-free, curly, and shiny.

SHAMPOOING

I shampoo my hair once a week. This may sound gross to some, but shampoo can strip your hair of it's natural oils, and can leave your hair dry. So I use a CSC (Condition, Shampoo, Condition) method to keep this from happening when I shampoo weekly.

What you do is put on conditioner and leave it on for 10 minutes, then you put on shampoo while the conditioner is still on, and then your rinse it all out. After that, you put on more conditioner and leave in for 10-15 minutes.

Remeber ::

Do -not- pile your hair on top of your head when you shampoo unless you want extra tangles.

Do -not- shampoo curly hair more than twice a week.

Do use a hydrating shampoo.

Do use the CSC method.

Do shampoo after your hair has been exposed to chlorine.

CONDITIONING

When you wash your hair, but skip the shampoo, and only use conditioner it's called the co-washing technique, which I use. I usually leave the conditioner on for about 10-15 minutes before I wash it out. I use Bubmle %26amp; Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner because it makes my curls yummy. =]

RINSING

I rinse my hair with cold water to seal the cuticle (making it lay flat) which results in more natural shine. Also, I have a shower filter. Hard water is water that contains things like disolved limestone and can coat the hair shaft and cuase the strand to break. If you can't drink your tap water, then you should either invest in a shower filter or rinse using a water from a filter or maybe bottled water.

DRYING

I never blowdry my hair for the simple fact that it leaves curly hair a mess! When you do the final rinse on your hair, you should blot it with a towel or even paper towels and then let it air dry. But never rub your hair with a towel or put it in a towel turban because that will add frizz to curly hair.

LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER

Spray in a good leave-in conditioner like Infusium 23 Leave-In Conditioner and then comb through (make sure your hair is still wet, fresh outta the shower after blotting with a towel is the best time) with a wide-tooth comb.

STRAIGHTENING SERUM

*only if you want tighter curls

After I put in leave in conditioner, I scrunch with a paper towel and then put in Paul Mitchell Super Skinny, then scrunch again with a paper towel to tighten and define my curls.

MOUSSE/GEL

*only if you want/need extra hold

After I put in my straightening serum, (again, it's optional) I get about a silver dollar size amount of mousse and then distribute through my hair. If I decide to use my spray gel, I spray only about 10-15 times for my entire head. When you finish putting in mousse or gel (if you decide you want to) then scrunch one last time with a paper towel.

FINISH IT OFF

Do not touch it, just let it air dry %26amp;%26amp; you will have beautiful, defined curls.

DEEP CONDITIONING

About once a week, you should use a good deep conditioner or cholesterol treatment. I personally use Silk Elements Cholesterol Treatment. Anyway, just follow the directions on the bottle or tub.

Voila! Pretty curls. =]
